Can I visit without an appointment?
Walk-ins are welcome at most Hakim Optical stores for frame selection, fittings and lens consultations. Independent Eye Exam Centres may also accommodate walk-ins, depending on availability.

Choosing and Receiving Your Glasses
How quickly can I get glasses?
Select Hakim Optical stores offer one-hour service for eligible standard single-vision prescriptions. Timing depends on the prescription, lenses and store. Confirm availability before ordering.
Does Hakim Optical offer same-day glasses?
Some stores offer same-day or one-hour service for qualifying prescriptions. Partly or fully completed express orders are excluded from next-day cancellation under the 2026 policy.
Which eyeglass brands does Hakim Optical carry?
The published range includes Ray-Ban, Versace, Coach, Armani and Hakim Designer frames. Selection can vary by store. Explore women’s and men’s frames.
Does Hakim Optical carry children’s eyeglasses?

Can I replace my lenses without buying new frames?
New lenses can be fitted into many existing frames following an in-store assessment. There is no frame warranty on a patient-owned frame when new lenses are purchased.

Does Hakim Optical sell contact lenses?
Yes. Options listed by Hakim Optical include daily, bi-weekly, monthly, toric, multifocal and coloured contacts, with brands such as Acuvue, Air Optix, Biofinity and Dailies. Read the contact lens guide.
Are progressive lenses available?
Yes. Progressive lenses provide distance, intermediate and near vision correction without the visible dividing lines of conventional multifocals. Explore lens choices.
Does Hakim Optical offer blue-light filtering lenses?
Yes. Ask a store about blue-light filtering options for prescription or non-prescription eyewear and their suitability for your needs.
Does Hakim Optical sell prescription sunglasses?
Yes. Prescription sunglasses are available in eligible frames with tinted, polarized or photochromic lens choices. Ask about lens options.
Does Hakim Optical sell prescription safety glasses?
Yes. Hakim Optical offers prescription safety eyewear for individual and workplace needs. Ask about applicable product standards, including CSA Z94.3 and ANSI Z87.1, and available safety glasses.
What Warranty Comes With My Glasses?
Are Hakim Designer frames covered? Yes. Hakim designer, signature and limited-edition frames identified by D, E, F, L and S codes have a one-year, one-time unconditional warranty from the original pickup date.
What about third-party designer frames? A-code frames and sunglasses have a separate one-year limited manufacturer-defect warranty. The supplier must verify the defect. Eligible defects are repaired or replaced by the supplier at no charge; wear and tear is not covered.
Are lost frames, changes of mind or my existing frame covered? No warranty applies to lost items, changing your frame selection, or a patient-owned frame fitted with new lenses.
Are prescription lenses and coatings covered? A one-year limited warranty applies to qualifying lens manufacturing, workmanship and accuracy defects. Anti-reflection and scratch-resistant coatings have manufacturer-defect coverage. Normal wear such as scratches, chips and overheating damage is excluded.
Can I Cancel or Exchange My Order?

Can I Cancel My Purchase?
Eligible same-day cancellations are refunded to the original payment method. A next-day, 24-hour cancellation option applies to eligible orders, excluding partly or fully completed express eyewear, opened contacts and completed fitting charges.

Within 30 days of pickup, prescription glasses and sunglasses may be exchanged with a 25% regular-price service charge plus any applicable frame and lens price difference.
Exchange Conditions →Can I Exchange Non-Rx Frames?
Non-prescription A-code frames and sunglasses may be exchanged within 24 hours, without a service charge, only if defect-free, in perfect condition, and accompanied by the original case and box.
Non-Rx Exchange Rules →Can I Exchange Contact Lenses?
Unopened disposable contact lens boxes may be exchanged within 30 days of pickup, with applicable fees. Opened or used packages cannot be returned or exchanged.
Contact Lens Rules →What If My Prescription Changes?
What if I cannot adapt to progressive lenses?
Within 90 days of pickup, the policy allows a one-time switch to another progressive design of equal or lower value, a paid upgrade, or replacement with regular bifocal, trifocal or single-vision lenses. No cash refund is offered; only credit.
What if my doctor changes my eyeglass prescription?
Within 60 days of pickup, a one-time complimentary replacement with the same lens type is available using the new prescription. Material, coating or lens-type upgrades carry extra charges.
What about a contact lens prescription change?
A one-time doctor-prescription change within 60 days applies to unopened, intact disposable contact lens boxes. Service or restocking fees may apply.
What Services Are Included?
Does Hakim Optical provide free adjustments?
Yes. Hakim Optical provides complimentary lifetime cleaning, tightening of screws, nuts and bolts, and adjustments for Hakim Optical prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses.
Is there a contact lens fitting guarantee?
There is a 30-day guarantee on the initial fitting and visual acuity based on the doctor’s prescription. Completed fitting fees are non-refundable, but may be applied to a contact lens purchase within 30 days of the recorded fitting date.
Are final-sale eyewear items returnable?
No. Frames and lenses sold as-is or marked final sale cannot be returned or exchanged under the company’s policy.
Billing, Deposits and Our Lowest Price Guarantee
Does Hakim Optical accept insurance? Hakim Optical offers direct billing for many Canadian vision care plans. Ask your location to confirm whether your plan can be billed directly.
Is a deposit required? A minimum 50% deposit is required on prescription and non-prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses. For purchases using insurance or government benefits, at least 50% of the patient’s share above coverage is payable when ordering.
What happens if an insurance claim is not paid as expected? Under the company policy, the customer is responsible for the full purchase amount when an insurance claim discrepancy arises.
Does Hakim Optical offer a Lowest Price Guarantee? Yes. Qualifying printed, non-handwritten advertisements from another retail optical business in Canada can receive an additional 10% off. The offer excludes Ontario doctors’ offices, wholesale clubs such as Costco and Sam’s Club, and online optical suppliers such as Clearly Contacts. Online-only advertisements do not meet the printed-advertisement requirement.

Some policies depend on whether your eyewear is prescription or non-prescription, whether a product is final sale, when you picked it up, and whether it has already been completed or opened.
