    Hi,
Someone who’s having an insurance plan has to pay first for their eye exams and lenses and then claim later or they can directly use the insurance provider information to pay you?

    Thanks

      Hi,

This can vary based on your insurance provider. Please call your local Hakim Optical or send us a more detailed message including your insurance provider and your local store and we can look into this for you.

Thanks for reaching out to us,

Hi, I just got benefits from my job, they are called Great-West Life…Would I have to pay full price and then submit it to them? I am allowed a free eye exam and $200 towards the glasses. We used to be with Manulife, I am not sure why the sudden change!

      Hi,

Some of our stores deal directly with Great-West Life, but some stores differ slightly. Your best course of action is to call the store closest to you and they can answer all of your questions. Please follow this link to find the store closest to you: https://hakimoptical.ca/store-locator/

What if my eye doctor gave me the wrong prescription and I am having difficulty seeing? I realize that it is not Hakim’s fault, but must I pay all over again to get them fixed, or is there some of warranty or grace period.
I have been dealing with you for almost 20 years now and have always been satisfied with your products and services.

I am going back to see my eye doctor next week to find out what has happened.

    Thanks you.

      Hi Tom,

Unfortunately we do not cover mistakes by the eye doctor. However, if you contact the store you have been dealing with hopefully we can reach some kind of resolution.

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Hi there. I am in Georgetown ontario. Can you bill the insurance companies directly with nothing coming out of our pocket in the beginning. It would be for eye exams both for my daughter age 8 and myself. Plus eye glasses. Is there a location close to Georgetown ontario .

      Hi Cheryl,

In Ontario, the eye exam for your Daughter is covered by OHIP. As for the insurance, please call the store closest to you, which in Georgetown would be our Brampton store. They’re phone number is 905-840-5805.

      We hope that helps!

Hi there my dog chewed up my glasses and I just got a new pair 2 days ago. Will I get them fixed free of charge or what will happen?

      Hi Breanna,

If they are Hakim Designer frames, they have a 1 year frame warranty. Other brands can vary.

Please call the location you purchased the frames from and they can sort everything out for you.

      Thanks!

Hi, I recently got my contact lenses from Hakim optical but this time when I wore the contacts, I realized my left eye was blurry. When I checked the box, it showed that Hakim opticals have me the wrong lenses for my left eye! Can I return that box and get one with proper lenses this time? Because this was Hakim’s mistake.

Hello, I am also on Ontario Works and just now found out I am covered for eye exam, do I need to make appointment, and if so how long of a waiting list to get checked ?

Hi Mike, sorry for the late reply. You do need to make an appointment, as the eye doctors are not in every day. There isn’t a waiting list exactly, the doctor may just get booked up quickly on a particular day. It would be best to call your local Hakim Optical and ask to make an appointment. Thanks for your question!

    Hi there,
I am covered under group benefit plan from Manulife.
Which offers $400 per 24 months for prescription glasses, elective contact lenses , repairs and elective laser vision correction procedures .
Does this cover sun glasses for eye protection or plain glass for safety of eyes while working on computers?

Hi there. I am in Winnipeg and on social assistance. I am needing an eye exam and new glasses. Assistance covers up to $150 towards eye exam/glasses so just making sure you accept assistance as a form of insurance. As well, do you do toddler eye exams?
    Thank you

Hey, I am covered through my boyfriends insurance I believe Green Shield and they do cover eye exams. My question is: do I have to pay upfront or do you accept insurance right away? Thanks

BAD EXPERIENCE so far for me… I spend $600 at this company. Guess what. Service is equal to McDonald’s, “Next”!!! My questions were not answered by the optician, basic questions. Lady at front desk is not helpful, when I came to pick up my glasses, I wanted to try them on, she told to do it at HOME!!! Are you for real, try them at home?????
In the end, I have been wearing glasses for a month and I have got a headache every time I am wearing it. The prescription must be wrong.
I can’t believe I spent so much money and got disappointing results.
What I suppose to do now??? Pay another $600???
